- Use and Scope
The following privacy policy applies to the personal information collected, utilized and safeguarded when you use the Taiwan Futures Exchange Corporation (“TAIFEX”) global information network (“the company’s website”), but does not apply to other websites you connect to through the company’s website. Websites to which you connect from the company’s website have their own privacy-protection policies, and do not apply TAIFEX’s privacy policy to their information-processing measures. TAIFEX and its website do not have joint and several liability for these other websites.
- Collection of Personal Information
The company’s website does not collect any personally identifiable information associated with simple browsing or file-downloading activities. When you browse the company’s website or use its query services, the website is likely to automatically record the following information: your operating system, your IP address, information about the equipment you are using, the time of use, the type of browser, the language, and the information selected. When you subscribe to TAIFEX’s epaper, we need you to register your email address so we can deliver the paper to you.
- Reporting unlawful futures-market activity
If you use the website to report unlawful futures-market activities (including reporting underground futures), we need you to provide your name, ID card number, a contact method and your address as a basis for your report.
Prior to the expiration of the purpose for which the aforesaid information has been collected, the name, communication method, and other personal information you disclosed will be used in Taiwan, or in other locations necessary for the completion of the aforesaid collection purpose, to send emails or in other lawful and reasonable ways. When necessary and within the scope of the aforesaid collection purpose, a portion of your personal information may be provided to other organizations. In addition, in the case of reporting unlawful futures-market activities, this information will be provided to the Financial Supervisory Commission, the courts, investigative bodies, and other organizations to which the law requires it to be provided.

When TAIFEX obtains your personal information, it creates a file based on the scope of the relevant task, and stores your personal information in our information storage system. TAIFEX strictly controls access to your information, and uses stringent protection measures to prevent unauthorized persons from accessing it.
TAIFEX follows government regulations and information-management principles to ensure that your information remains complete, usable, and private. TAIFEX utilizes advanced, high-security firewalls, along with intrusion-prevention systems, and comprehensive antivirus systems to protect our information systems, prevent unlawful intrusions and block malicious software that might otherwise steal, alter, damage, lose, or disclose your information.
Some of the website’s systems use standard protection mechanisms such as identity confirmation and password protection to ensure the security of data access and transmissions.
All of TAIFEX’s employees undergo comprehensive training on information confidentiality and fully understand that keeping your data confidential is a fundamental responsibility. In the event that business needs necessitate that we hire a third party to provide a service, TAIFEX will require the third party to stringently adhere to the duty of confidentiality, and will utilize the necessary audit programs to confirm that it does so.

TAIFEX only uses your personal information for the purposes for which it was collected, and within the scope of the relevant laws and regulations. TAIFEX will not disclose your personal information to a third party or use it for a purpose other than that for which it was collected unless you consent or the law requires it.

Except as otherwise provided by the law, you may exercise the following rights with respect to your personal information as collected, processed, utilized and saved by TAIFEX:
- make an inquiry or request to review your personal information;
- request a copy of your personal information;
- request the supplementation or correction of your personal information;
